Pulsar ("we," "our," or "us") is a real-time social nightlife app that helps you discover events and connect with friends. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Pulsar mobile app and website (pulsar.party).
Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and username.
Location Data: With your permission, we collect your real-time location to show you nearby events and share your location with friends you've added. You can disable location sharing at any time through Ghost Mode or your device settings.
Profile Information: Any information you choose to add to your profile, including a profile photo and bio.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the app, including events you view, friends you add, and messages you send.
Camera: With your permission, we access your camera to let you take and share photos within the app.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
• Provide and operate the Pulsar service
• Show you nearby events and friends on the map
• Enable friend connections and messaging
• Improve and personalize your experience
• Send you important service notifications
• Ensure the safety and security of our platform
Location Sharing
Location sharing is central to Pulsar. Your location is only visible to friends you have mutually added. You can enable Ghost Mode at any time to hide your location from all friends. We do not sell your location data to third parties. Location data is used solely to power the in-app map experience.
Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:
• Friends you've added on Pulsar (display name, username, profile photo, location when sharing is enabled)
• Service providers who help us operate the platform (Supabase for database and authentication, Vercel for hosting)
• Law enforcement when required by law
We do not share your data with advertisers.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@pulsar.party. Messages are stored to provide the messaging service and can be deleted by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
Pulsar is intended for users 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us personal information, we will delete it promptly.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including using encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure database practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Opt out of location sharing at any time via Ghost Mode
• Disable camera access through your device settings
